The panel weight then rests on the track, grooving the aluminum and making the problem worse every time you open it.
• Lock or latch won’t throw without lifting the door. The door panel has settled out of alignment, usually from hinge wear or roller failure. Forcing the latch just chews the strike plate and eventually strips the screw holes in the jamb.
• You hear grinding or feel vibration when sliding the panel. The roller bearings have failed or the wheel itself has cracked.
